A lifelong passion is how John Otteson describes his love of real estate. He began his career in 1976 and showed immediate success as the top salesperson in his office, an achievement he repeated year after year. As John’s interests and knowledge broadened, he began investing and syndicating. He has been the General Partner in many Limited Partnerships, sold businesses, managed both properties and real estate sales, plus been the Broker/Owner of his own real estate company. |
In 1993 John returned to real estate sales full time, again becoming the top agent in his office. He moved to RE/MAX in 1997 with the goals of running his business more effectively, providing better service, building a strong team, and implementing innovative ideas. John has a long history of leadership, from Captain of his college football team to Past President of his church congregation. He is a member of local and national Boards of Realtors® and has served on various committees. He has spoken as a panelist for the Mike Ferry organization and also coaches other agents across the country. John is actively involved in many other community and business organizations. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, the 49ers (a business development organization), and is the Director of SPARL, the St. Paul Association for Responsible Landlords. A long time resident of St. Paul, John enjoys the freedom real estate gives him to spend time with his wife Christy and their children Andrea, Brett and Abbey. They spend weekends enjoying the mid-west outdoors on their boat or at their cabin in western Wisconsin.
